Four Months

Sorry there are no pictures today. My camera is being difficult.

Makenize turned four months old yesterday! She had her four month appointment!

Weight: 12 lbs 45th percentile
Height: 24 in 50th percentile
Head: I don't remember exactly, but it was in the 55th percentile.

She had to get shots again..... so sad! Anyway, Makenzie continues to laugh, roll over, grab toys, and get everything into her mouth. She has also started getting separation anxiety. She has been crying at home when I walk out of the room and she can't see me. She will also cry sometimes when "strangers" are holding her. Poor baby. I need to let her be babysat.

She had two big changes yesterday. First, she started solid foods! She actually hated it. We were so surprised! She loves all medicines and loves the taste of anything she can get to her mouth. But, she spit out every last bit of cereal with a disgusted look on her face. Today I actually got her to swallow about a teaspoon of it...but she didn't seem to like it very much. Her second big change was sleeping in her own room! That went much better than expected. She slept a total of about 10 hours only waking up once in the middle to eat! It was the best night we have ever had. Except, it was kind of hard for me not to have her right beside me. When I got into bed and looked over at the empty bassinet I almost started crying. I did wake up a few times and ran to check on her...it was just so unusual for her to sleep so long that I got nervous.

I will post pictures when I can!

My Little Angel

I just thought I would make an update on some of the things Makenzie has been doing lately....

- She continues to roll over
- When laying on her stomach, she can pop up on her knees and sometimes army crawl a few inches. This is not on purpose...she just kind of goes crazy and wiggles so much that it just happens....
-She can pick up toys and get them to her mouth. However, she usually tries to skip the 'grabbing' of the toy. She will often just pucker her lips, open her mouth and dive with her head.
-She laughs! She has only done it a few times and it is so cute! Apparently it's really funny when mommy fake sneezes.
- Smiling is very natural now. She does it all the time. I think she knows that it is a good way to get attention. However, I don't have many pictures of it. Every time I pull out the camera, she gets curious and won't smile. Even when we try to be sneaky with the camera she will ALWAYS spot it.
- She loves to listen to music. Turning music on will usually get her to stop crying
- She is still so nosey. She doesn't miss a thing.
- She no longer sleeps through the night. She wakes up every 2-3 hours looking for a party with mommy.

She really is such an angel and I love her so much! I can't get enough of her!

Four Generations

Makenzie and I went to Omaha last week. I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I meant to. But, I did get a four generation picture! My mom is leaning back to make the rest of us look like giants. Anyway, here is my mom's mom, my mom, me and my baby!

Mommy's Creations

Makenzie is starting to fit in some of the things that I have made for her. Here she is in her bath robe. We like to lounge around in our robes together sometimes.

I was trying to read Makenzie her hat book. We can't read a hat book without wearing a hat. So we decided she should wear the hat I made for her. As you can see, she hated the hat and the hat book.
